The man killed in a two-vehicle collision just before 1 a.m. today on Bell Road near Cane Ridge Road is identified as Nicholas Jeremiah Warren, 19, of Wildwood Drive.
Warren, driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder, and Joshua Taylor, 26, driving a 2004 Ford Explorer, were both traveling west on Bell Road in separate lanes. The preliminary investigation and roadway evidence shows that the Mitsubishi made a turning movement to the left in front of the Ford. The Ford collided with the driver’s door of the Mitsubishi. Warren, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
Taylor, of Glen Oaks Drive, was transported to General Hospital for treatment of non-critical injuries.
The contributing factor to the crash appears to be an improper turn by Warren.
Taylor was believed to have been drinking prior to the crash. A blood sample was drawn for alcohol analysis by the MNPD crime laboratory
