Of direct impact to Antioch is a first reading of BL2016-111, proposed by Council Member Jacobia Dowell, District 32.

The proposal is to change the zoning at 12740 and 12784 Old Hickory Boulevard, at the corner of Old Hickory Boulevard and Preserve Boulevard. It totals 23.8 acres. The zoning is currently AR2A, agricultural and the request is for RS7.5 zoning, which will allow for single family residential on 7,500-foot lots.

The proposal was approved unanimously by the Planning & Zoning Committee. There will be three readings and a public hearing prior to final approval.
