Work has begun to convert the former Razz’s location, 2241 Murfreesboro Road, into the latest Zaxby’s Restaurant.
Unconfirmed reports place the investment in the property at about $3 million.
The application for a commercial rehab permit, filed by a Victor Talley, is for interior renovation of about 735 square feet. A permit was issued November 18 to Dimension Construction, a Memphis-based company that specializes in the renovation and construction of restaurant properties.
On August 18, The Tennessean announced plans to add three new Zaxby’s Restaurants to the Nashville area, including this location. According to that report, the location is owned by Robert Ward, a Zaxby’s franchisee who owns the location at 915 Bell Road, and is expanding elsewhere in Nashville. He also owns nine locations in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
This part of Murfreesboro Road has seen an uptick in investment lately. A new Dollar Tree store has opened near this location and there are persistent rumors from reliable anonymous sources that Sherman Williams is very likely to locate a store in the area.
