Slicks roads possible, but impact not likely in Antioch

weatherWill it or won’t it?

The real question? Will there be snow again in Antioch?

The National Weather Service is saying that significant storm systems will impact the Northern Plains and the Carolinas, and that those systems could – possibly – bring snow back to Antioch.

That said, warm temperatures will likely prevent much in the way of significant accumulation if the snow does fall.

While they’ve issued no warnings or watches, the National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement saying accumulations are possible Monday or Tuesday West of the Cumberland Plateau.

It should begin to rain Sunday night and we’ll likely see rain and snow Monday with a high of 40 degrees. Monday night, the low will drop to 24 and Tuesday’s high is forecast for 30. There is a 40 percent chance of snow showers Monday night and a slight chance Tuesday.

The NWS’ special weather statement said that snowfall accumulations are expected to be light, ranging from a dusting in Western and Southern Middle Tennessee with up to one inch in the plateau.

“Although this snow will not have a widespread impact, a few areas could experience slick roads,” the statement concluded.
