Snow continues to fall, closings announced

Update 9:40 a.m.:
Road conditions in Antioch are worsening as snow continues to fall.

Particularly hard hit are side roads. Personal observation at 9:30 reveals that road conditions on Mt. View, Hamilton Church, Pinhook Road, and other side streets have worsened since 7:00 a.m.

At 9 a.m., Ezell-Harding Christian School, the only Antioch school that opened this morning, announced they were closing immediately due to weather, with no extended care offered.

Snow is expected to continue to fall in Antioch until this evening or into the night.

We have several closings being reported throughout the area.

Metro Public Schools and Lighthouse Christian Schools are both closed today. As of 5:50 a.m. we have not heard from Ezell-Harding Christian School.snow

According to the National Weather Service light snow showers will continue intermittently throughout the area through the afternoon today. With a high of 31 today, patches of ice will develop along roadways, and this includes dangerous black ice.
