Dreaming of Preds, youth take to Antioch ice

Future Predators took to Antioch’s ice Saturday as the Ford Ice Center offered a “Try Hockey for Free” event Saturday.

Children ages 4-9 as well as adults 18 and older were treated to free one-hour hockey classes courtesy of G.O.A.L., Get out and Learn, hockey program brought to you by the Nashville Predators and Erie Insurance.

The activities took place at the Ford Ice Center.

According to their website, G.O.A.L! provides beginner players the opportunity to learn the basic skills of ice hockey through four one-hour on-ice sessions at Nashville area rinks.  Participants will learn forward strides, stops/starts, turns and crossovers, backward skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, fun games and more!

The ice was packed with people young and old learning more about ice hockey and proving, once again, that Antioch is a hockey community within the hockey town of Nashville.
