Ezell-Harding relaunches marching band program

Picture2This year has been very busy and exciting in the band program at Ezell-Harding Christian School.

They began by bringing back our marching band program. Band students in grades 7 through 12 started last summer with a band camp to learn marching fundamentals. They  had a full week of camp the week before school and started working on learning our football halftime show.

Students learned music from “The Sound of Music.”

They  played at home football games and traveled to some away games too. The students did a wonderful job with the marching show especially noting that they were all new marchers!

They continued on with concert band, and a few students participated in the Fall Solo and Ensemble Festival. All received superior ratings and blue medals. A few students also auditioned for the All Middle TN Clinic Band. They  had a Christmas concert with all band students in grades 5 through 12 in December. And during basketball season, our 7th through 12th grade pep band has been busy playing at most of the home basketball games.

They  are excited about our spring band trip to St. Louis, Missouri. We will play in a concert at the Christian Academy of St. Louis. Tours of the Arch, a boat ride with historical information of the area, and a day at Six Flags will also be included. A spring band concert will be presented on May 1. Some students will be participating in the Spring Solo & Ensemble Festival as well. It has been a great year to be a part of the EHCS marching and concert band!
