Antioch Middle successfully launches free English program for parents

20160301_192000_resizedAntioch Middle Prep hosted two successful launch events for a free English language program for parents. 32 parents who speak 6 different languages participated in the events, and several other parents have already expressed interest over the last two days.

The program, called DynEd, is provided through the MNPS Office of English Learners and hosted at several schools throughout the district as well as the EL office itself.

Parents who attended the launch events at Antioch Middle Prep enjoyed a catered meal together and took a brief practice test to determine their English proficiency level. Translators were available to ensure a productive experience for all.

Once parents are registered with DynEd, they can learn English at their own convenience, and do not have to attend classes in person. Prizes will be given to parents who log significant hours in the program.

Parents of Antioch Middle Prep students who are interested in enrolling in DynEd can enroll in the program by contacting Dan Moranville, Community Involvement Specialist. Those interested can call 615-333-5642 (ext. 1116) or email [email protected]
