Antioch Musings: New sponsors and free stuff

We are excited to announce a new major sponsor of

We’ve entered a six-month advertising and content agreement with Middle Tennessee State University.

I first became closely acquainted with MTSU several years ago while working at the Daily News Journal, Murfreesboro’s daily newspaper. Even then, my professional colleague and friend, Andrew Oppman, vice president for communications at MTSU, considered MTSU to be Antioch’s four-year public university.

The agreement will provide a much needed boost to our capability to cover local news and information, and I hope to deepen the relationship as we go on down the road.

The simple fact is it is through partnerships with great businesses and institutions that allows us to do what we do. EAZE Custom Framing, 360 Burger, Bobby Allen State Farm, Freeland Chevrolet, Lighthouse Christian School, and Ezell-Harding Christian School, Realtor Barry Vincent and others are critical to our success. Without them, we could not provide Antioch with a local information source.

Your help needed

While we have great sponsors, your help is needed. There are several ways you can help continue to provide local news and information.

One is buy a voluntary subscription. Every penny of voluntary subscriptions, which start as low at $5 per month, is used to pay local freelancers to write local Antioch stories.

Another way is to submit local news and information. Anyone can send in announcements and goings on. Just email them to [email protected] and I’ll take care of the rest.

Finally, share our stories and content. Share them on Facebook, on Twitter, and anywhere you spend time on social media. Sharing is caring, right?
