An accused child rapist free on bond awaiting trial has now been arrested on a host of new charges involving child pornography.
John Patrick Tracy Jr., 64, was indicted in November 2013 on multiple counts of child rape, aggravated sexual battery, and sexual exploitation of a minor involving the nine-year-old daughter of his former girlfriend. He posted a $100,000 bond and was released from jail.
Earlier this year, Sex Crimes Detective Chuck Fleming learned that Tracy had engaged in numerous electronic conversations with the victim’s mother. A search warrant for Tracy’s computer and other devices was executed to determine whether coercion of the victim or her mother was being attempted.
During an analysis of Tracy’s equipment, MNPD Detective & electronics expert Chad Gish discovered images of the nine-year-old being sexually assaulted along with hundreds of other photographs depicting child pornography. Based on Detective Gish’s analysis, new arrest warrants were obtained charging Tracy with eight counts of sexual exploitation of minors.
Tracy was rearrested Wednesday at his Mimosa Drive residence, on the border of Antioch in Southeast Nashville. He is presently jailed in lieu of $360,000
