Antioch real estate market remains steady and strong

We’re seeing a lot of consistency in the Antioch housing market in recent weeks.

About a month ago, we reported that the median sales price for a home was $149,500. That remains basically steady, coming in at $148,950.

The median sales price has remained within a few dollars of $149,000 since August, 2015. The price per square foot remains steady at $92.

Nearby, LaVergne reports a $135,000 median sales price and Smyrna a median sales price of $169,950.

Realtor.com reports that the median listing price in Antioch is $185,000, or $100 per square foot.

Throughout Middle Tennessee, the real estate market proved strong.

According to a news release, there were 2,293 home closings reported for the month of February, according to data provided by the Greater Nashville Association of REALTORS®.

This represents an increase of 9.7 percent from the 2,091 closings reported in February 2015. Year-to-date closings through February 2016 are 4,460, a 9.7 percent increase from the 4,067 closings reported through February 2015.

“Several days of unseasonably warm weather certainly aided this month’s (February’s) activity. Whether you believe the predictions of Punxsutawney Phil or not, Middle Tennessee’s real estate market is set to see an early spring,” said GNAR President Denise Creswell.
