Seniors from Lighthouse Christian School recently went on a trip to Costa Rica that was part mission, part education, and a ton of fun.
Caring for the community, the seniors spent quite a bit of time at Cuidad de fe or “City of Faith,” which is a daycare and preschool serving over 120 students, many of which are from Nicaragua and have many unmet needs.
Mario Villalta (center) is a native Costa Rican and has been working with Joshua Expeditions, a wonderful Christian organization. He is an experienced guide who is led and worked with LCS Seniors. Mario has done an internship in the U.S. and also participates in a Mission Organization (YWAM) that builds homes for needy families. We have affectionately nicknamed him "Super Mario."

The Seniors brought smiles and excitement to the children and participated in many activities with the children including Bible story time, face painting, arts & more. The Director of the center praised the young people for all they did with the children today.
But that wasn’t all. Students spent time spreading the word of God, taking educational side trips, and getting a little bit of sun.
