Public Invited to Saturday’s Special Operations Division Open House

Families throughout the city are invited to attend the first annual MNPD Special Operations Division Open House this Saturday, May 21st, at McGavock High School, 3150 McGavock Pike.

The free event from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. will include the following activities:

•    12:30 p.m. Opening ceremony by the Drill & Ceremony Team;

•    12:45 p.m. Canine demonstration;
•    1:15 p.m. Drill & Ceremony Team demonstration;
•    1:30 p.m. Canine detector demonstration;
•    1:45 p.m. Canine demonstration;
•    2:15 p.m. Drill & Ceremony Team demonstration;
•    2:45 p.m. Hazardous Devices Unit demonstration.

Families will also have the opportunity to get up-close looks at MNPD helicopters, a SWAT vehicle, and Bomb Squad equipment.  Members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand offering free child fingerprinting.

This is a rain or shine event. Popular food trucks will be on site.

Members of the media are welcome to attend.
