Man charged with vehicular homicide in Bell Road fatal accident

Fatal crash investigators last night charged Ference Molnar with vehicular homicide by intoxication for Tuesday afternoon’s collision on Bell Road that claimed the life of motorcyclist Stanley Wiser, 60.

The investigation showed that Molnar, 68, was traveling west on Bell Road in his 1993 GMC pickup truck when he attempted to turn left onto Old Hickory Boulevard. Molnar failed to yield the right of way and collided with the eastbound motorcycle. Wiser, of Eulala Circle, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died last night.

Molnar, who appeared extremely intoxicated, was unaware that he had been in a crash. He admitted to drinking prior to the collision. Officers located two open bottles of liquor inside Molnar’s vehicle. After performing poorly on initial field sobriety tasks, Molnar refused to continue.

Molnar, of Murfreesboro Pike, was charged Tuesday with vehicular assault, driving on a revoked license, open container violation, and not providing evidence of insurance. He remains jailed on those charges.

Molnar has a prior DUI conviction in Sumner County.
