The weekly planner: Week of June 20

We get it. Everyone wants to focus on the supposed “sea creature” Google Earth found (look it up), but we have another busy (and hot) week ahead of us Antioch, so let’s get focused and figure it all out.

Monday, the Southeast Farmer’s Market will be back in business from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the park adjacent to the library and Ford Ice Center. The weather shut them down last week, but the vendors will be back and there will be a twist for the children. The Southeast Branch Library will be doing a Story Time program, giving away books for children, and having a craft activity. So bring the kids, pick up some great local goods and produce and support the Farmer’s Market.

Tuesday. Whoa Tuesday. There are two very important community meetings planned.

First, the Metro Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the David Scobey Council Chamber downtown. The agenda includes the third and final reading for budget items, which have been subject to much contention in Southeast Nashville due to a proposal to move the Criminal Justice Center to Harding Place.

Also Tuesday, there will be a public meeting at 6 p.m. at Cane Ridge High School regarding a proposed Gas Compressor Station near Mill Creek. You can read more about the meeting at this link.

Friday at 2 p.m. the Southeast Branch Library will be hosting their weekly Drive-In Movie. It is a free movie, suitable for children, with refreshments served. Always great fun!
