South Precinct detectives are working to identify two armed and dangerous gunmen who just before 6 a.m. today fired shots at the Regions Bank ATM located at 5218 Hickory Hollow Parkway and minutes later robbed two men in separate hold-ups in an apartment complex parking lot on Hickory Hollow Place.
The investigation shows that the gunmen fired a shotgun into the ATM machine and were attempting to use a pry bar to get it open when a citizen pulled up, causing the suspects to jump into a newer model Chevrolet sedan and drive away.
They then went to an apartment complex on Hickory Hollow Place and robbed two men in separate incidents. In both incidents, the victims were punched by the robbers.
The two gunmen are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. One had long dreads and a light complexion. The other had short hair and a dark complexion.
Surveillance cameras recorded the activities outside the ATM. Anyone recognizing the suspects from the accompanying photographs is asked to immediately contact the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-862-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
