After a long wait, Zaxby’s is open at 2241 Murfreesboro Road, the former location of Razz’s restaurant. By lunch today (June 27), a large crowd was filling the restaurant to give it a strong opening.
On Facebook, Council Member Tanaka Vercher, who represents District 28, posted, “I welcome and applaud Zaxby’s for bringing economic development, providing jobs and services in District 28. Their willingness to locate in our community is further evidence that we are a growing community and a viable place to work, live and play.”
Work on the conversion began in earnest in December and unconfirmed reports place the total investment in renovating the property at $3 million.
Dimension Construction, a Memphis-based company that specializes in the renovation and construction of restaurant properties.
On August 18, The Tennessean announced plans to add three new Zaxby’s Restaurants to the Nashville area, including this location. According to that report, the location is owned by Robert Ward, a Zaxby’s franchisee who owns the location at 915 Bell Road, and is expanding elsewhere in Nashville. He also owns nine locations in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
