Don’t forget that Monday is the July 4 holiday.
Government offices, including the Southeast Branch Library and Community Center, will be closed. So too will the Southeast Farmer’s Market, banks, and many area businesses.
There are no community events nor fireworks planned for Antioch. However, there are some fireworks in the area, and you don’t have to fight the downtown crowds for Nashville’s July 4 event.
Smyrna will have an Independence Day celebration Friday July 1 at Lee Victory Park, 102 Sam Ridley Parkway. The event starts at about 5 p.m. and fireworks should begin at about 9 p.m.
La Vergne will have an Independence Day celebration July 4 starting at 5 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Music is at 6 and the event is free. Fireworks will start sometime after dark.
Mt. Juliet will also have fireworks at 9 p.m. July 4. They will be launched from Academy Sports and should be viewable from Providence Shopping Center.
As a reminder, fireworks are not allowed in Davidson County, though it is not illegal to buy or possess fireworks.
Metro Police will respond to complaints of people shooting fireworks, but that said, in 2014, there were only 4 citations for shooting off fireworks illegally in Davidson County.
