Men and women who would like to work part-time as Metro school crossing guards are invited to a job fair Friday, July 15th, from 9 a.m. till noon in the Green Hills Room of the Metro Southeast complex at 1417 Murfreesboro Pike.
The police department will be taking crossing guard applications for the upcoming school year. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid government-issued ID and social security card, have reliable transportation, and be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Starting pay is $11.66 per hour. Benefits include furnished uniforms and equipment, holiday pay and a bonus at the end of the school year that recognizes guards’ dedication.
The police department employs nearly 200 crossing guards who work public school zones in the mornings and afternoons throughout Davidson County.
