The week ahead: Are you ready for some football?

We’ve been on a roll the last few weeks, and it may seem like the coming week is a little lighter, in terms of things to do around Antioch. However, there are still some important activities taking place.

As with every Monday, the Southeast Farmer’s Market will be held at the Southeast Branch Library from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This week, there is a wide range of goodies on the menu, including homemade cheesecakes, beef, pork, chicken, eggs, vegan smoothies and cookies, Italian ice, doggy treats, homemade jams and jellies, homemade soups, local produce, and even T-shirts and other attire. Come on out and spend a few bucks right here at home.

The Metro Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the David Scobey Council Chamber at One Public Square. The agenda can be found here.

Want a season opener for football? Cane Ridge High School will host rival Antioch High School Friday night in the regular season opener. The teams have met seven times with Antioch holding the slight favor with four wins. Come on out and enjoy some great high school football right here in the 37013.

Not a bad week. Enjoy!
