The week ahead: Light week, even for football

We hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day holiday and are looking forward to a short – and event-wise, light – week.

First, remember that MNPS students do not have class Tuesday, though teachers will be in inservice. Both Lighthouse Christian School and Ezell-Harding Christian School students will be in class Tuesday.

Neither the Metro Council nor the MNPS Board of Education meet this week.

The Southeast Branch Library will offer a full slate of activities this week. You can check out their calendar at this link.

In high school football action:

  • Cane Ridge (3-0) will host McGavock (1-2) at 7 p.m.
  • Antioch High School (1-2) is off this week.
  • Ezell-Harding Christian School (2-1) visits Stratford (3-0) in Nashville with a 7 p.m. kickoff
  • Lighthouse Christian School (3-0) will also have a bye this week.

Finally, while not specifically in Antioch, don’t forget that this week is Marine Week in Nashville. A full listing of events is at this link.
