The week ahead: Farmer’s Market, Metro Council, ballet and football

Last week was a pretty heavy load for Antioch area activities and this week is shaping up to be quite busy on its own.

There are only a couple of Mondays left in the season for the Southeast Farmer’s Market, so head on out there and pick up some produce. It is held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays outside the Southeast Branch Library.

The Metro Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the David Scobey Council Chamber downtown. The agenda may be viewed at this link.

Saturday, Nashville Ballet will share the story of Ferdinand the Bull at the Southeast Branch Library. Enjoy the story of a peaceful bull, unfit for bullfighting rings because he only wants to smell the flowers. Original choreography and music, and bright, colorful costumes bring to life the story as told by Munro Leaf in his classic children’s book. Children of all ages are welcome. The show starts at 10:30 a.m. and will last about an hour.

Here’s your Friday night football line up:

Undefeated Cane Ridge (5-0), now ranked 9th in the state, travels to Hillsboro (2-3).

Antioch High (1-3) will play host to Stewarts Creek (4-2) in a non-conference game.

Ezell-Harding (4-2) travels to Mt. Juliet Christian Academy (4-1)/

Lighthouse Christian School (3-1) will travel to Bowling Green Christian Academy (0-2).

All game times are 7 p.m.
