Metro Schools leaders are furthering the dialogue started in this summer’s Listen and Learn sessions by engaging in a series of open conversations on specific topics important to teachers, staff and parents.
The goal of these Voice Sessions, as they have been named, will be to explore what the district can do to continue to support student achievement in these particular areas.
“We learned a lot at the Listen and Learns, but the number one lesson was that our employees and parents aren’t finished talking with us yet,” said Dr. Shawn Joseph, Director of Schools. “These sessions will clarify and provide greater insight into the input we received and also set expectations for Metro Schools’ shared vision of student achievement. These Voice Sessions will provide specific ideas for meeting individual, school and district goals.”
The sessions begin on Oct. 10 with a different topic featured each night. Teacher and employee sessions will begin at 4:30 p.m., with parent sessions on the same topics to follow at 6:00 p.m.
