Mexican soccer legend to appear in Antioch

Adolfo Rios, former goal keeper for the Mexican National Team (MNT) for soccer, will be appearing in Antioch Friday at an event designed to promote soccer throughout the area.

Allstate Insurance Company, an official sponsor of the Mexican National Team (MNT) and Major League Soccer (MLS), has partnered with the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback program. Throughout the soccer season, Allstate has hosted community collection events ahead of select MNT and MLS matches and during select Alianza de Futbol Tournaments, and will continue to gather donations ahead of the Mexico v New Zealand match in Nashville. As part of the partnership, Mexican soccer legend and former goalkeeper Adolfo Ríos will be helping Allstate to host an exciting community event for all soccer fans in Nashville.

On October 7, soccer fans are encouraged to come out to participate in the event and donate their new and gently used soccer equipment and gear to be distributed to underserved youth in Nashville and across the country. The community event will feature an autograph session with Adolfo Ríos and numerous fun soccer games for the whole family, including Bubble Soccer and Inflatable Foosball. Those who make a donation on-site will receive a Soccer.com gift card and will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win MNT prizes, including match tickets and team merchandise.
Additionally, Allstate will match community contributions by donating thousands of new soccer balls, to be distributed along with donated equipment and gear to youth leagues in Nashville and across the country. Ríos will also be at the Allstate Fútbol Fiesta, a fun and interactive fan experience taking place before the Mexico v New Zealand match at Nissan Stadium on Saturday, October 8.
Rios was a top-tier Mexican goalkeeper, playing for the clubs America, Necaxa, Pumas, and Veracruz. As a goalkeeper, he has played in more professional games in the Mexican first division than any other goalkeeper and is known for eye-catching saves and reflexes.
