Local detectives from the South and Hermitage Precincts were active last week, netting some 40 arrests, mostly for drug and prostitution related crimes.
They also seized marijuana, heroin, pills, and more than a $1,100 in cash. Areas of focus were Murfreesboro Pike, Glengarry Drive, McGavock Pike, Lebanon Pike, Cottonwood Drive, Donelson Pike, Elm Hill Pike, Fesslers Lane, Harding Place, Largo Drive, Plus Park Boulevard, Murfreesboro Pike, and Gillette Road.

West Precinct detectives charged 6 persons as the result of investigations on White Bridge Road and Charlotte Pike. Detectives seized two grams of marijuana and one gun.
North Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on Clarksville Pike, Hamilton Road, Trinity Lane, Kingview Drive, Haynes Park Drive, and Kings Lane. Seized were .2 gram of heroin, 7.5 grams of cocaine, 38.2 grams of marijuana, 49 pills, two handguns, and $486 cash.
Madison Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Gallatin Pike, Duling Avenue, Dry Creek Road, Rio Vista Drive, and Rivergate Parkway. Detectives seized 21 grams of marijuana, .5 gram of cocaine, 2.6 grams of heroin, two guns, and $1,344 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Dickerson Pike, Trinity Lane, Gallatin Pike, Spain Avenue, and Douglas Avenue. Detectives seized 33.7 grams of marijuana, 21.6 grams of heroin, 23.4 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of MDMA, three guns, 8 Xanax bars, one Suboxon strip, 73 pills, and $4,959 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations on Hermitage Avenue, Lafayette Street, Peabody Street, Commerce Street, Middleton Street, and Drexel Street. Detectives seized 3.57 pounds of marijuana, one gram of cocaine and .4 gram of methamphetamine.
Citizens suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
