The man fatally wounded at 5:40 a.m. Sunday outside building #15 at Overlook Apartments, 727 Bell Road, has now been positively identified as Adonilfe Isai Aguilar Escobar, 20, who frequently traveled between Atlanta and Nashville.  His parents are in Guatemala and have been notified of his death.

The investigation to this point by South Precinct detectives shows that Escobar was a patron at La Mansion Hall night club, 1310 Antioch Pike, in the early morning hours of Sunday, where he apparently was involved in some type of altercation.  Escobar traveled by a taxi service from the night club to Overlook Apartments, where he was staying.  Detectives believe Escobar was followed.  He was shot just after he got out of the taxi.

Anyone with information on the person or persons responsible for killing Escobar is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.  Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.  Spanish speaking operators are available.
