If you are in the downtown area, and/or near the Hermitage Wednesday, note that President Trump’s visit to Nashville late Wednesday afternoon will necessitate a number of street closures, some brief, others for an extended period of time.
While the specific route President Trump will travel is not being disclosed for security reasons, citizens can expect roadways between Nashville International Airport and The Hermitage to be temporarily closed at some point between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Roadways will be reopened after the motorcade clears certain segments of the route.
In-bound roadways between The Hermitage and the Municipal Auditorium downtown will be temporarily closed at some point between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Those roadways will be reopened after the motorcade clears certain segments of the route. Outbound thoroughfares are not expected to be closed during this portion of the President’s travel.
Road closures downtown in the area of the Municipal Auditorium will begin at approximately noon in preparation to accommodate the thousands of pedestrians expected in the immediate vicinity. Fifth Avenue from Charlotte Avenue to James Robertson Parkway will close at noon, as will Gay Street between James Robertson Parkway and 5th Avenue. James Robertson Parkway from 3rd to 5th Avenues will close at approximately 3 p.m., or earlier as the crowd numbers dictate.
During the motorcade from The Hermitage to the Municipal Auditorium, James Robertson Parkway will be closed between Interstate Drive and Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. That closure will remain in effect until the conclusion of the Municipal Auditorium event.
