South Precinct detectives looking for shooter

South Precinct detectives are investigating Saturday night’s fatal shooting of Jesus Alberto Flores, 24, who was a passenger in a 2006 Nissan Maxima traveling on Antioch Pike when shots were fired into the Maxima from a passing pickup truck.

The driver of the Maxima, Luis Alberto Rosero-Loyo, 23, reported that he and Flores were traveling on Antioch Pike near McCall Street at 11:15 p.m. when shots were fired into his car by a passenger in a white pickup truck. Flores was struck in the chest. As Rosero-Loyo attempted to drive away from the pickup truck, his car stalled. He fled on foot but returned a short time later. Flores, of Bridgeway Circle, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

At the time of the shooting, Rosero-Loyo and Flores were returning to a party.

The suspected shooter is described as a Hispanic man. He wore a blue ball cap with the letters “LA”.
