The Antioch renaissance continued Tuesday as Bridgestone Americas, Inc., opened it local operations center in Antioch.
It is located in the former Sears location in the Global Mall at 5244 Hickory Hollow Parkway.
Bridgestone Americas Inc., is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, the world’s largest tire and rubber company. The new facility is home to 450 teammates and contractors who recently moved into the facility.
This grand opening is the first of two openings for the company this year. Its new downtown headquarters, the Bridgestone Tower, is scheduled to be operational as of September 1, with a celebration planned for December. The investments in these two facilities will bring the total number of Bridgestone employees in Nashville and Antioch to more than 2,200.
Nashville and Antioch business and community leaders attended the ribbon cutting hosted by Bridgestone Americas executives and teammates. Renata Soto, co-founder and Executive Director of Conexión Américas, emceed the event which featured remarks from the Chief Operating Officer of Nashville Mayor’s Office, Rich Riebeling.
“The vibrant environment in Antioch is the perfect home for the Bridgestone Operations Center,” said Gordon Knapp, CEO and President of Bridgestone Americas. “Hundreds of our teammates in financial shared services, IT and customer support now call Antioch home, and we are looking forward to being an active part of this community. It is the first step this year in bringing all of our core business operations to Nashville. Without a doubt, our teammates are excited to live, work and raise their families in the greatest city in the U.S.”
The Bridgestone Operations Center and Bridgestone Tower will bring together the company’s four core business units: Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations; Bridgestone Retail Operations; Firestone Building Products; and Firestone Industrial Products.
The 77,000 square-foot Bridgestone Operations Center is located at the Global Crossings Mall in Antioch. Construction partners for the project are R.C. Mathews Contractor and LINES, Inc. who helped create a shared sense of collaboration with social hubs, kitchens and cafes, and sitting or standing work spaces. Floor space is designed to mimic streetscapes that provide optimal opportunities for employees to interact.
In addition to the Bridgestone Operations Center, Antioch is home to a Firestone Complete Auto Care lab store, a new retail concept Bridgestone is rolling out to test new ideas, products and ways of interacting with its customers.
Crestview Funds created CV Hickory Hollow LLC to own and manage the former Sears/current Bridgestone property in Antioch. Crestview Funds LLC is a Nashville-based real estate and management firm.
