Two Antioch schools welcome new principals

Two schools in Antioch will be under the helm of new leadership when the school year starts next month.

A.Z. Kelly Elementary welcomes Heather Bethurum as the new principal.

Ms. Bethurum was most recently the Principal of Indian River School District located in Delaware. Bethurum brings a desire to work collaboratively with parents, teachers and community members to build a strong vision and positive learning environment. She looks forward to building relationships with community partners and other organizations to continue the strong work in place at A. Z. Kelley. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Fine Arts.

Dr. Lance High will take the lead role at Smith Springs Elementary School.

Dr. High has served as the Principal of Amqui Elementary since 2015. Prior to leading Amqui Elementary, Dr. High was the assistant principal at A. Z. Kelley Elementary School. He has a Doctorate of Education in Learning Organization and Strategic Change, a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. High is dedicated to the education of the community as evident by his time served as adjunct professor at Union University and Lipsc omb University.
