Man charged in Hamilton Church arson

Nashville Fire Department Fire Marshals charged Tevin Battle,25, with aggravated arson in connection with a fire at 3140 Hamilton Church Road.

According to investigators, Battle set five separate fires inside his apartment. His mother told investigators she found her son in the kitchen with something in his hands on fire. She told investigators Battle pushed her out of the door and locked the door.

Battle then fled the apartment after the fire started. Metro Police later arrested him in the area. He admitted to setting the fires to Metro Police detectives.

There were no reported injuries from the fire and Nashville Fire Fighters were able to contain the fire to one unit.
