Tragedy struck Antioch Sunday morning as a mass casualty shooting at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ left one dead and eight injured.
The church is located on Pin Hook Road at the Corner of Lavergne Couchville Pike.

According to officials, the call came in at 11:15 a.m.
A man in a blue SUV shot and killed one person in the church parking lot before opening fire inside the church. In addition to injuring several, he allegedly pistol-whipped a man who confronted him.
The man who was pistol whipped went to his car and retrieved his gun, for which he has a permit. When he confronted the shooter, the shooter shot himself in the head.
According to police, three men including the gunman and three women were transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The man who was pistol whipped and another victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center.
