The Australian music scene has been abuzz with new releases and chart-topping successes in recent weeks, with several local artists making their mark on the ARIA Albums Chart. Among the standouts is Calum Hood, the bassist for the popular Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS), who has officially made his solo breakthrough with the release of his new album ORDER Chaos ORDER.

Hood, who has already topped the Australian charts five times as a member of 5SOS, continues the band's winning streak with his solo album. In an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Hood opened up about the band's enduring creative engine and the never-ending process of coming up with new ideas. "The 5SOS cog in the music world never stops," he said. "There's always people dreaming up things – 'What if we do this, what if we do that?' So fear not, because there's always something going on."

This week has been a huge one for homegrown talent on the ARIA Albums Chart, with Western Sydney drill group ONEFOUR entering at No. 2 with their first full-length release Look At Me Now, and psych-rock veterans King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard debuting at No. 5 with Phantom Island. Despite their prolific streak that now includes 27 studio albums and 19 ARIA top 10 entries, a No. 1 album still eludes the band.

ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd praised the success of these local artists, stating, "Three Aussie debuts in the Top 5 is an absolutely massive result. Congratulations to ONEFOUR and King Gizz, but particularly to our new No. 1 Calum and his team for delivering a breakthrough hit album and proving that new Australian music absolutely can cut through."

Elsewhere in the top 20, Spacey Jane's third LP If That Makes Sense climbed 21-13 in its sixth charting week as the band continues their Australian headline tour. On the ARIA Singles Chart, California-based singer Alex Warren logged a 13th consecutive week at No. 1 with "Ordinary," tying for the fifth-longest reign in ARIA chart history. However, no Australian songs appear in the current top 50.
