KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blue Springs, Missouri, offers a range of activities for visitors – starting with some caffeine at Scout Coffee.
Their motto is “coffee and kindness,” and they’re known for their signature Snickerdoodle latte.
Jared Montgomery opened Scout Coffee six years ago, with the goal of bringing high-quality coffee from Kansas City to the suburbs. Being one of the only coffee shops in town, many teens and teachers stop here for their morning coffee before school.

Once you’re caffeinated, you can get some of that energy out at Burrus Old Mill Park, one of the city’s oldest parks.
This is where the first settlers lived in 1838, and a grist mill used to operate there. Today, the mill is gone, but a popular park takes its place.
You and your family will also love rock climbing at Ibex, where you can test your skills against its 49 climbing walls.
Back in 1995, a pair of brothers opened this rock-climbing gym in Blue Springs. It was the first of its kind in the metro and one of the first in the country.
The cost for a day pass is $21 for adults and $18 for kids.

Finally, you’ll want to end your day by doing some shopping at Queen Bee Boutiques & The Vintage Bee.
More than 250 local small businesses and crafters rent space inside the building. This massive boutique opened two years ago, and the space is usually packed. Shoppers can find unique items and gifts, making it a must-see destination when visiting Blue Springs.
