Darius Rucker is getting back in the saddle after unexpectedly cutting one of his shows short earlier this month.
The country star, 59, had just kicked off his Carolyn’s Boy tour when he was forced to end his performance early in Atlantic City, NJ.
“Y’all I can’t sing anymore,” Rucker emotionally told the crowd after losing his voice mid-set. “I will play one more song. I promise you we’re going to figure this out. This never happened. I physically can’t sing… I will make this up to you.”

In the days following the show, Rucker issued an apology to fans and explained that, despite his promise, rescheduling wouldn’t be possible.
“I feel awful and I’m so sorry — I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing,” he wrote. “We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible this year, so we’re issuing full refunds.”
The cancellation left many fans wondering if other dates on the tour, including his next scheduled show on Saturday, July 19, would also be affected.

Rucker is now set to continue his tour as planned throughout August and September, with stops across the U.S., followed by international shows in the UK and Canada.
The singer has faced some setbacks on stage in recent years. In 2024, he made headlines after slipping and falling during a performance in Charleston, SC.
Just before the mishap, he sang to the crowd: “Don’t need no five-star reservations / I got spaghetti and a cheap bottle of wine / Don’t need no concert in the city.”
