David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan’s Onscreen Chemistry Make ‘Superman’ Summer’s Must-See Movie

The Man of Steel flies back into town in one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters, Superman, but after numerous movies (Superman I-IV, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) and TV shows (The Adventures of Superman, Lois & Clark, Smallville), even die-hard fans might ask, what’s left to know about Clark Kent and his alter ego?
Well, for the first time since 2011, Henry Cavill has yielded the red cape to David Corenswet, who at 31 is 11 years younger, so we see Clark still establishing himself in Metropolis.
Superman 2025 also focuses on Clark’s relationship with fellow Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) — who gets to know his superhero side by channeling her inner Diane Sawyer and doing a sit-down interview with him.

But of course, there are still cities to protect and children to save as his longtime foe, Lex Luther (Nicholas Hoult), is again trying to take over the world with an arsenal of dangerous new weaponized mercenaries, threatening not only Superman’s life but also his adoptive parents’. (Is it us or does Lex Luther resemble a tech oligarch?)
Corenswet and Brosnahan’s charismatic performances and the incredible special effects make this a sequel worth seeing.
