Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has been tapped to write the new James Bond movie. He’ll join Villeneuve as yet another high-profile name to join the new film, which has yet to find a lead, despite countless reports suggesting various names for the new spy.
Outside of Peaky Blinders, Knight has worked on countless projects throughout his career. His writing credits include films like Eastern Promises, Hummingbird, Locke, Seventh Son, Maria, and more. He’s also one of the three creators of the original quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? He most recently created the television show A Thousand Blows and was previously attached to a Star Wars movie.
The James Bond franchise is now in the hands of Amazon MGM Studios following the shocking announcement earlier this year that longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson would bestepping backfrom their long-time status as producers on the franchise, allowing Amazon MGM Studios to take creative control of the franchise. The agreement sees Amazon MGM Studios and the duo forming a new joint venture house to house the intellectual property rights for the Bond franchise.
