Founding member of indie rock band will make solo tour stop in Peoria
A Belleville native is bringing his upcoming fifth solo album to Peoria.
Jeff Tweedy, known for fronting vocals and guitar in the Chicago-based rock band Wilco, is scheduled to play at TempleLive Peoria at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20, joined by country-folk artist Sima Cunningham at the Scottish Rite, located at 400 NE Perry Ave.
Presale tickets for the show are on sale at Ticketmaster. General sales will begin 10 a.m. CST July 18.

The Peoria stop is part of his accompanying tour. Four songs from the album are already released: "One Tiny Flower," "Out in the Dark," "Stray Cats in Spain" and "Enough."
Who is Jeff Tweedy?
Born in Belleville in 1967, Tweedy attended Belleville Township High School West and began playing guitar at 12 years old. He attended concerts and toured frequently around St. Louis with his band Uncle Tupelo, which he formed with other Belleville West classmates Jay Farrar and Mike Heidorn.
In 1994, Tweedy formed Wilco. The alternative rock group has since released 13 albums and become known for a country-inspired indie sound, some of their most popular songs including "Jesus, Etc.," "Via Chicago" and "Misunderstood."
