I'm an experienced but anxious traveler. I've been burned by too many gate-checked bags and piles of unidentifiable luggage. But there's one piece of tech that has given me peace of mind every time I travel. It's earned a spot on every packing list. Fellow iPhone users, I'm begging you to get a few AirTags. Especially while they're cheaper than they've ever been. For Prime Day, a four-pack of AirTags is just $64, compared to their regular price of $100.

These coin-size trackers can be slipped into a zipper pocket, or you can purchase a keychain to clip them onto your belongings. Within seconds of you activating them, they connect to your Find My app like your AirPods or Apple Watch would. You can assign a name and emoji to each, allowing you to keep the exact location of your item. You can get directions to the AirTag even in close quarters, get notified when you left something behind, and even play a sound to identify its whereabouts. The battery lasts for over a year, but when it does run out, you can easily replace it by making a quick trip to the drugstore for fresh batteries.

I personally own four AirTags. I keep them in my checked bags to make sure they survive transfers. I put them in over-stuffed carry-ons in case they get gate-checked. I never have to hunt for my keys. I even put one in a box when I was moving cross-country, so I could actually tell when my items would be delivered to my new home. If you've ever left a concert or football game and tried to find your car in a massive parking lot, trust me: you'll wish you had an AirTag in your car. It will save you hours of circling and clicking your keys.

They're not just for travel, either. Take a scroll through customer reviews or Reddit threads, and you'll find some pretty unique uses. "My mom has dementia and at times has wandered out of her assisted living facility," wrote one Reddit user. "I put an AirTag in her walker so I'm always able to locate her." Another Reddit user swears by theirs for runaway Roombas. "We have a Shark robot vacuum that gets lost in our house all the time," one user wrote. "I finally got tired of looking for it and glued an AirTag on it to help. Now what used to take five to ten minutes (searching under desks, beds, in closets, Jack and Jill bathrooms, etc.) takes less than a minute."

Senior Commerce Editor Marina Liao even uses one on her dog's collar to keep track of her fur baby when off-leash. So, no matter what you need to keep safe, it's a pretty handy purchase that'll last you for years to come.
