M. Night Shyamalan's latest film, "Remain," is currently being shot in Rhode Island, and the director is seeking amputee actors for a disaster scene in the supernatural romantic thriller. The casting call was posted on Instagram by Boston Casting on June 23, but the post does not specify which project it is for, except to say that it's a feature film being shot in Rhode Island and that the actors are needed for one day: Thursday, June 26. While "Remain" is the only feature film publicly known to be shooting in Rhode Island this week, another major film is also expected to film in the Ocean State in 2025, but no starting date has been announced. The role pays $216 for eight hours of work, and actors must be comfortable with fake blood and portraying being crushed by a bridge. To be considered for the role, actors must submit their name, current photo, contact phone and email, and where they are based to [email protected]. The subject line must include "AMPUTEE" and their name. Shyamalan began shooting "Remain" on June 18 inside the Coffee Depot on Main Street in Warren before heading out onto Narragansett Bay on the Prudence Island Ferry's Herbert C. Bonner to film on the water. Afterward, the filmmaker was spotted shooting at a house in the Adamsville section of Little Compton, right on the Westport, Massachusetts, line. The Warner Bros. movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Phoebe Dynevor, and Ashley Walters, and is expected to be released for Halloween next year. The casting call for amputee actors adds an interesting twist to the already mysterious and supernatural nature of "Remain," making it a highly anticipated project for both fans of Shyamalan's work and those interested in seeing how he will use this unique group of actors in his latest film.
