Kevin Smith Joins As EP On Matt Walsh Movie ‘The Unexpecteds’, Sets October Release


EXCLUSIVE: Clerks and Dogma filmmaker Kevin Smith has boarded the Matt Walsh indie comedy action movie The Unexpecteds as an EP, with the title receiving an October 14 digital release via MVD Entertainment Group.
The Unexpecteds follows Gary (2x Emmy nominee Walsh) and his friends as they seek revenge against a social media influencer who scammed them out of their life savings. Directed and written byAlejandro Montoya Marin, the picwonthe Best Comedy Award at the third annualSmodcastle Film Festival.

Smith was in Cannes for the re-release of his 1999 controversial Catholic Matt Damon and Ben Affleck comedy Dogma, which saw its distribution rights untangled and put back in the creator’s hands via his View Askew Productions and Triple Media Film. Goodfellas has overseas rights on Dogma.
Smith is repped by Linden Entertainment and Sloss Eckhouse Dasti Haynes LawCo.
