L&T Technology Services (LTTS), part of the Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has unveiled a new engineering design centre in Plano, Texas, US. The site aims to address the growing demand for advanced solutions in artificial intelligence and technology. The company will establish more centres tailored to clients' needs, reflecting the nearshoring trend of bringing businesses and customers closer together.
The new facility, compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations, will develop and test defence-related systems and products. It will also focus on advanced cybersecurity solutions with a security operations centre.
The new site will initially house up to 100 engineers, with plans to create more than 350 jobs in the future. These jobs are expected to serve key sectors, such as mobility and technology.
Alind Saxena, LTTS's president and executive director of mobility and tech, stated that the new tech centre aims to bring innovation closer to its clients across all major segments and industries.
“Plano is now a critical pillar in our global delivery model, with proximity to our clients, while working closely with local partners and talent to co-create industry-defining solutions,” he added.
John B. Muns, Mayor of Plano, thanked LTTS for investing in North Texas.
“LTTS is not just creating opportunities, they are helping shape the future of advanced technology development and smart manufacturing,” he added.
LTTS provides design, engineering research, and development services. A listed subsidiary of L&T, it has around 24,250 employees globally. Furthermore, in 2022, it opened an engineering design centre in Toulouse, France.
