Iconic rock band AC/DC continues to break records 52 years after forming — and this time, they’re selling out arenas like its 1980.

Ahead of their highly anticipated Power Up tour, the Australian legends have proven they remain a fan favorite in the rock world.

On Thursday, June 26, Ticketek — a leading ticket sales platform — reported a staggering 370,000 tickets sold across all events that day, setting a new all-time high for the company.

Most impressively, over 320,000 of those tickets were for AC/DC’s Power Up tour alone, marking the "biggest concert on-sale day in Ticketek’s 40+ year history."

This latest milestone reportedly surpasses the band’s own 2009 Black Ice tour record that accounted for the majority of sales traffic across the platform — with the tour ultimately selling more than 650,000 tickets nationwide.

"These results reflect the collaboration, passion, and sheer effort from every part of our business," said Cameron Hoy, Ticketek Entertainment Group’s Head of Global Ticketing. "I’m incredibly proud of what the team has accomplished."

More than 1.7 million fans lined up online when tickets went on sale, with several dates selling out within hours and leading to extra shows in popular cities.

Due to overwhelming demand, the tour has expanded from five to nine concerts, making it one of the largest national rock tours of 2025.

The Power Up tour is AC/DC’s first Australian trek in nearly a decade and comes after the release of their 2020 album, Power Up.

Despite some online criticism, it seems the band’s popularity remains as strong as ever. Earlier this month, a TikTok video of a recent performance sparked debate, with some viewers questioning lead singer Brian Johnson’s vocals.

Some users called him off-pitch, writing, "I was going to get tickets until I saw this," while another claimed, "Yeah lads, it might be time to stop."

Even with mixed reactions, fans are still pouring in to see the band — and these record-breaking sales clearly prove it.
