Mass. Sen. Warren has Stephen Colbert’s back after CBS yanks ‘Late Show’

Talk show host Stephen Colbert had plenty of people go to bat for him after CBS announced it’s pulling the plug on “The Late Show” after three decades on the air.
Fellow funnyman and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel stood up for Colbert. Ditto for Saturday Night Live’s Bowen Yang and “Severance” star Adam Scott.
Most tried to draw a straight line between CBS’ looming merger with Skydance, which requires government approval, and Colbert’s frequent and vocal criticism of President Donald Trump.

Taking to X, the Cambridge lawmaker laid it all out there.
“CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery,” Warren wrote. “America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.”
Kimmel was equally blunt, using some words you can’t normally use on network television.
“Love you, Stephen,” Kimmel wrote on his Instagram story. “[Expletive] you and your Sheldons, CBS.”
Trump, meanwhile, took a victory lap on Truth Social.

I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
The last episode of “The Late Show,” a franchise begun by David Letterman, will air in May 2026, according to NYMag’s Vulture.
