The Dallas Mavericks are poised to make a splash in the 2025 NBA Draft, as they have scheduled a private visit for highly touted prospect Cooper Flagg on June 17th. The 18-year-old, who averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists with the Duke Blue Devils last season, is widely considered the top prospect in the upcoming draft. The Mavericks, who own the No. 1 pick in the draft and won the NBA Draft lottery for the first time in franchise history this spring, are not planning to work out any other prospects before the draft. Flagg, who was also named the consensus National Player of the Year in the ACC, is not planning any additional visits and both sides are aligned on his arrival in Dallas. While things can still change between now and the draft on June 25th, all signs continue to point toward the Mavericks selecting Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick. The Mavericks will be looking to build on their success from last season and make a run at the NBA title in 2025, with Flagg set to join a roster that already includes Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and Kyrie Irving, who is recovering from an ACL injury. Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has been impressed with Flagg's maturity and ability on both ends of the floor. "When you talk about [how] he’s 18 years old and won’t turn 19 until December, it’s just amazing, his maturity," Kidd said on 1310 The Ticket last month. "You look at both sides of the floor. Defensively, he’s not afraid to guard and then on the offensive end, his ability to shoot and also be able to play off the dribble. When you talk about 6-8, 6-9, to be able to do that, it becomes exciting as a coach but I think it becomes exciting as a teammate." With Flagg set to join the Mavericks, the team is poised to make a significant impact in the NBA and continue their quest for a championship in 2025.
