The Houston Rockets have unveiled their new jerseys for the 2025-26 season, paying homage to their roots and championship aspirations with a nostalgic twist. The special event took place at the Toyota Center on Wednesday, where the team's new wordmark logo was revealed. The new logo, which will appear across the chest on the jerseys, is a fresh rendition of the team name with the "R" replaced by a silver rocket. The same change will be made to the "Houston" in their white away jerseys. The blue home jerseys will feature Rockets blue accents and pinstripes, while the white away jerseys will have blue accents and pinstripes. Additionally, the team unveiled an alternate jersey with the wordmark "Rockets" running diagonally across the chest, splitting a solid blue upper portion and a pinstriped dark blue bottom. The two primary jerseys will feature the Adidas logo on the right upper chest, while the alternating kit will have the Nike symbol. All three jerseys will have the Toyota logo as their sponsor on the left. The new jerseys are bolder and more vintage-inspired than last season's, with the primary difference being the updated logo. The Rockets were founded as an expansion team in 1967 and debuted with a unique logo featuring a blue rocket with a red trail. In 1982, the logo was updated with a more modern design, featuring a white rocket with a blue trail and a red "R" in the center. In 2003, the Rockets removed the red trail from the logo and switched to all uppercase lettering for the team name. Despite finishing as the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 38-44 record in 2023-24, the Rockets showed resilience by pushing the Utah Jazz to six games in the opening round of the playoffs before ultimately falling short. The new jerseys are a testament to the team's determination to reach for the stars and achieve their championship goals.
