Pokemon GO has announced the July 2025 GO Pass and its rewards, whose highlights include a guaranteed encounter with Zapdos. Pokemon GO players will be able to work on the latest iteration of the GO Pass until early August 2025.
As its name implies, the GO Pass is Pokemon GO's take on the battle pass system that many live service games have adopted in recent years. Niantic launched its first trial run on April 1, offering players the opportunity to grind for free rewards or pay for a $7.99 GO Pass Deluxe upgrade in order to earn even more digital goodies. The second iteration of the progression track was offered between May 6 and June 3. The third edition launched immediately afterward and is set to run until July 1.

The fourth iteration of the battle pass will be available between 10am local time on July 1 and the same time on August 5. Zapdos is the headline encounter this time around, available with a themed background called Delightful Days. As was the case with previous GO Pass Legendary encounters, Zapdos will have a chance to be shiny.

The first of these becomes available at Rank 25 and grants a 50% XP boost for increasing Friendship levels. Tier 2, unlocked at Rank 50, provides increased Stardust and XP from Research Breakthroughs. Tier 3 offers similar bonuses for egg hatching. The exact values for the Tier 2 and 3 rewards have not yet been disclosed.
As before, the GO Pass will also have a Deluxe variant next month, offering upgraded rewards and faster progression. The final reward in the July 2025 edition of the Deluxe progression track is the Lucky Trinket, a single-use item that can turn a friend into a Lucky Friend. Normally, only Best Friends have a chance to get Lucky status after interacting with each other in Pokemon GO, but the Lucky Trinket works with any friend, thus serving as a convenient tool to guarantee the extremely beneficial Lucky Trades.
Pokemon GO players will be limited to 250 GO Pass points per day for the duration of the upcoming progression track. The only exception is the 24-hour period starting on Saturday, August 2, at 12am local time. During this limited window, players will be able to earn an unlimited number of points from activities.

From Tuesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time, the new GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe for July will be available in Pokémon GO!
GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
A GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track available during a specified period. By collecting GO Points you can increase your rank to earn rewards.
Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: July on Tuesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Tuesday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Additionally, from Saturday, August 2, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 3, at 11:59 p.m. local time, there’s no daily limit for how many GO Points you can earn!
For Trainers looking for upgraded rewards and faster progression, check out the GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of the GO Pass. While progressing through the GO Pass Deluxe, you’ll be able to claim all of the rewards from both the free GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe. You can upgrade to a GO Pass Deluxe at any time and still collect rewards from previously unlocked ranks.
Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Thursday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. local time, so be sure to claim your rewards before they’re gone!

The GO Pass Deluxe, the paid version of the GO Pass, is also available on the Pokémon GO Web Store now! Your GO Pass Deluxe purchased via the Pokémon GO Web Store will activate as soon as the GO Pass begins.
Trainers who upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe: July or GO Pass Deluxe: July + 10 Ranks on the Pokémon GO Web Store will receive 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions as a gift with purchase.

Lucky Trinket

A Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that can be used to turn one friend from your Friend List into a Lucky Friend. When used, the Lucky Trinket will set the status of you and your chosen friend to Lucky, even if you aren’t Best Friends yet! When you’re Lucky Friends with someone, the next time you trade with each other, both Pokémon will become Lucky Pokémon. After the trade, your Lucky Friend status will be cleared.
This exciting item will only stay in your Item Bag for a limited time, so don’t forget to use it! The Lucky Trinket earned as a part of GO Pass: July will expire on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time, regardless of when you claimed it.
You must be at least Great Friends with the Trainer you wish to apply your Lucky Trinket to. You cannot use a Lucky Trinket with a Trainer you are currently Lucky Friends with. Using a Lucky Trinket on a friend does not change the distance at which you can complete a trade. If you do not want to allow other Trainers to use their Lucky Trinkets on you, you can disable this permission in your Settings page.
