Popular Southern Cruise Port Will Get A New Family-Friendly Cruise Ship This Fall

Beginning in November, MSC Cruises will offer a new cruise option from Galveston, Texas that's tailor made for families. Named 2024's “Best Family Ship” by Travel Weekly, the state-of-the-art MSC Seascape is a floating amusement park for kids of all ages (literally—there's a rollercoaster on board) and it also packs in plenty of fun for adult travelers with a spa, casino, and 15 dining options. The Seascape offers trips ranging from two to seven nights to the Western Caribbean, with stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. Here's everything you need to know.
On-Board Activities
For Kids

MSC Cruises
SC Seascape has about 7,500 square feet of activities dedicated to kids and families, including specialty clubs for different ages and a video arcade. Little ones will love the LEGO Parade, where characters march through the ship, and the Pirate's Cove Aquapark. Older kids interested in food can compete in a cooking competition; dance in the Doremix Family Disco; and compete in a variety of game shows and quiz challenges.
For Everyone

MSC Cruises
Thrill seekers young and old have ROBOTRON, a thrill ride, where seated passengers flip and dive 174 feet above the water. Travelers can choose from six swimming pools, including an adults-only infinity pool on the back of the ship. Take in ocean views from a 1,700-foot-long promenade along the waterfront, or a glass-floored bridge. Catch a show at a massive theater or a more intimate cabaret, and dine at one of 15 restaurants on board. For pampering treatments, the MSC Aurea Spa offers just about every service you could want, plus a Thermal Suite, which has a variety of saunas and steam rooms. After dark, adults can enjoy nightlife at several indoor and outdoor clubs, as well as 20 bars and lounges.
Cabins

MSC Cruises
This is a massive ship with 2,270 cabins and 12 types of suites and staterooms. Most can accommodate up to four people, and some cabins can be connected, if you're traveling with a large group and want to stay together. Suites in the MSC Yacht Club, the ship's most luxurious tier of lodging, come with a butler, an exclusive pool and restaurant, and other special amenities.
