Princess Cruises may be a sister line to Carnival, but that doesn’t mean its cruise experiences or offerings are all that similar.

After Carnival announced an unpopular change to its loyalty program that will link status to spending beginning next summer, many loyal Carnival cruisers are suddenly considering giving other cruise lines like Princess a try.

Carnival cruisers who are contemplating booking a Princess cruise may be pleased to learn that Princess Cruises offers a popular beverage package option that many Carnival passengers have long requested.

Carnival passengers often write to the cruise line’s brand ambassador, John Heald, requesting (sometimes even begging) for Carnival to offer something different when it comes to cruise beverage packages — something exactly like what Princess Cruises offers.

While Carnival only offers two limited beverage package options, Princess presents passengers with four distinct cruise beverage package choices, including what many cruisers consider to be the perfect mid-level option.

Princess Cruises offers a zero-alcohol beverage package, and it’s not just soda

If you look through cruise discussions on online forums, it’s easy to see that beverage packages are one of the most commonly debated cruise topics on any cruise line.

For some Carnival Cruise Line passengers, the fact that the cruise line only offers two beverage packages — one that includes alcoholic drinks and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and one that includes unlimited sodas — is disappointing.

Many Carnival passengers who don’t drink alcohol would love to see the cruise line add a third drink package option. These passengers want a specialty non-alcoholic beverage package that’s offered at a lower price point than Carnival’s alcoholic drink package and includes a variety of beverage choices beyond soda.

Princess Cruises’ zero-alcohol beverage package is exactly what these Carnival cruise passengers want.

With the zero-alcohol package, Princess Cruises passengers enjoy premium and specialty coffees and teas, plus mocktails, sodas (fountain and cans), fresh juices, smoothies, hot chocolate, bottled water (still and sparkling), Red Bull energy drinks, and more.

The zero-alcohol package costs $29.99 per passenger, per day plus 18% service charge (totaling $35.39 per day) — far less than the average cruise line alcoholic beverage package.
