On Tuesday, the online marketplace named Brendan Dunne as its first-ever senior director of customer community and engagement.

In this newly created role, the company said that Dunne will be responsible for “driving customer engagement efforts, deepening StockX’s relationships across the sneaker, streetwear, and collectibles communities.” He will also serve as a brand ambassador, representing StockX across a variety of external platforms—both online and in person—and play a role in the company’s editorial content strategy.

Dunne joins StockX from Complex, where he most recently served as head of sneakers. There, he oversaw editorial strategy, partnerships, and content initiatives. Dunne has also worked on campaigns with brands like Foot Locker, Adidas, and Reebok, and interviewed industry figures including Tinker Hatfield, Jerry Lorenzo, Action Bronson, Lupe Fiasco, J Balvin, and more.

“Since day one, our customers have been at the center of everything we do, and listening to our customers continues to be an important part of how our platform evolves,” Greg Schwartz, chief executive officer at StockX, said in a statement. “With this role, we’re doubling down on our approach to community and customer engagement, and Brendan is the ideal person to drive that effort.”

Dunne added: “I’ve spent my career telling stories about sneaker culture and the communities that power it. I’m excited to join StockX at a time of continued growth and I look forward to building new bridges between the brand and sneaker fans around the world.”

Dunne is the latest new hire to join the company. In June, StockX named Daniel De Jesus Krueger as its new vice president and head of creative. In this role, the company said he will lead its global creative direction, defining the evolving StockX brand and its application through brand design, imagery, tone of voice, and overall storytelling.
